Confused about app distribution methods
I have a school interested in acquiring multiple copies of one of my free apps, but they require an ad-free version. To meet this need, I created a premium, ad-free custom app that requires an upfront payment. I would also like to offer a reduced price for bulk purchases. However, I’m unsure about the best distribution method. From the documentation here: https://developer.apple.com/help/app-store-connect/manage-your-apps-availability/set-distribution-methods I understand that I can distribute the app either as a private app or a public app (which can also be converted to unlisted). If I choose to distribute it as a public app but mark it as unlisted, there’s a checkbox that allows me to "Offer a reduced price on Apple School Manager for volume purchases." In that case, the app can be acquired at full price for orders under 20 copies or reduced price for a bulk purchases. However, it’s unclear if such an option is available for private apps. For instance, if one school wants to buy 5 copies and another wants 100 copies, can I set a custom price for each in the private app scenario? Given these considerations, what would be the most suitable distribution method for my app?
